Techno in Amsterdam
Groove techno. Hypnotic, percussive, built to roll for hours. A dark room and a loud rig.
Groove techno, not big-room techno
Groove techno is the older, deeper idea: a tight, swinging drum-machine pattern, layered percussion, a bassline that locks in and stays. It hypnotises rather than shouts. The point is the loop: small changes over a long arc rather than a drop every sixteen bars.
Amsterdam's techno culture
Amsterdam has deep electronic roots, but the smaller rooms, warehouse parties, collectives and independent spaces, are where it stays interesting. Fewer guest-list politics, more sound system, a crowd there for the records.
That's where Breakglass sits. We're an Amsterdam Noord collective programming techno and UK garage side by side, because the same crowd loves both.
How Breakglass does techno
Long sets, a system that does the low end justice, a dark room. Xarlee anchors our techno side with percussive, hypnotic, patient sets.
